His journey in medicine began at the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Medicine, where he earned his MD in 1989. Driven by a keen interest in the foundational aspects of health, he pursued a Master of Science in Human Genetics, completing his thesis on the "Assessment of similarity and sources of variability of blood-related individuals" under the mentorship of Josipa Kern.

His specialization in psychiatry was completed in 1996 at the University Hospital "Sestre Milosrdnice" in Zagreb. He has extensive experience in both Croatia and the Netherlands, where he delved into social psychiatry, particularly the Dutch model of flexible assertive community treatment (f-ACT).

From 2022 to 2024, Davor Moravek MD MSc contributed to St. Catherine Specialty Hospital, focusing on psychogenomics and psychiatric genetics. Since 2024, he also leads his private practice at Poliklinika Moravek.
